Surfing in North Devon
A quick post to show you some pics of the surf I had in North Devon over the Easter weekend. We were camping just north of Woolacombe and didn’t have high expectations for the surf conditions but we were lucky enough to be treated to clean five to six foot waves. I’d recently got back from Canada and haven’t been in the water much this winter so I was in for a rude surprise! The water was just 7 Celsius and a few local friends reconed the sea was the coldest its been for years.

Needless to say it was a massive shock to the system and didn’t make surfing head high peaks any easier. Still, it was great to be back in the water and the new Excel wetsuit I picked up in October kept me amazingly toasty. On Tuesday I surfed in Harlyn, Cornwall in small but fast waves. The water may be Baltic right now but it doesn’t stop people – it was pretty packed out back with loads of surfers in the water.
